Glass insulation coating: your questions answered
Practical answers for glazing projects, sample testing and business cooperation. Confirm the specification of the formulation you order.
Selection & comparison
Start with the existing glazing and the result you want to assess.
What is TheLonelyBrave nano glass insulation coating?
It is a liquid functional coating applied to glass to form a transparent layer for solar control. G801 is offered for architectural glazing and project evaluation; confirm the formulation for the intended glass and application method.
How is liquid glass coating different from window film?
A liquid coating cures on the glass; a conventional film is a separate sheet. Compare appearance, solar performance, access, repair and removal on your actual glazing. A coating does not have sheet-film edges, but surface defects are still possible if preparation or application is unsuitable.
Where can glass insulation coating be considered?
Typical assessment scenarios include residential windows, sunrooms, shopfronts and office glazing. Curtain walls and vehicle glazing need a specific compatibility and installation review before use.
Can I apply the coating to Low-E, double-glazed or laminated glass?
Do not assume compatibility. Identify the glass build-up, exposed surface treatments, seals and manufacturer restrictions. Request a substrate review and trial, especially for Low-E surfaces and insulated glass units.
Should I coat the glass or replace it?
Consider coating where existing glass is sound and accessible. Cracked panes, failed seals, structural defects or a need to change the glazing construction require a separate repair or replacement assessment.
How should I choose between G801 and G802?
G801 is the current public architectural-glass offering. G802 engineering specifications are still being reviewed and are not a published ordering specification. Send your glass configuration and project requirements for selection advice.
Parameters & performance
A useful number needs a sample, a method and test conditions.
How much visible light will the coating transmit?
There is no single value for every glass and coating. The Testing & reports page lists supplied sample measurements with their methods and conditions. Confirm a result matched to the ordered formulation, substrate, film thickness and cure age.
Will coated glass look hazy or change the view?
Review haze and visible-light transmission together, then inspect a trial on the actual glass. Substrate condition, film thickness and application quality affect appearance; a laboratory sample cannot guarantee the appearance of every installation.
How many degrees cooler will the room be, and can I stop using air conditioning?
No fixed temperature reduction or replacement of air conditioning is promised. Orientation, glazing area, weather, ventilation and building insulation all affect indoor conditions. Use a documented on-site comparison to assess your project.
Does the coating block phone, GPS or ETC signals?
A blanket signal-performance claim is not made for every glazing system. Existing glass treatments and vehicle systems also matter. Include phone, GPS, ETC and remote-key operation in the trial where relevant.
Is it water-based or solvent-based, and is the VOC level certified?
The current public specification does not settle the carrier system or a certified VOC value for every supplied grade. Request a formulation-matched safety data sheet and applicable environmental test documents. An optical report is not a safety or environmental certificate.
Can I get VLT, SHGC and other third-party test reports?
The supplied SGS sample reports are available on the Testing & reports page. They do not name G801 or G802 and do not establish a model-specific SHGC or TSER. Ask for the evidence applicable to your exact specification, together with export documentation where needed.
Application & acceptance
Trial the supplied formulation before treating a larger area.
Does the glass need to be removed before coating?
Application can be assessed on installed glass with safe access to the correct surface. Removal is not a default step. Confirm compatibility, edge protection and access arrangements; vehicle windows remain part of the vehicle during an appropriate application.
Is G801 applied by roller, spray or wiping?
Match the method to the supplied formulation. Roller and spray grades are supplied separately and are not interchangeable. A demonstration of one method does not authorize another method for the same batch; follow its current application instructions.
What weather is unsuitable for application?
Do not apply to wet, contaminated or condensation-covered glass, or expose fresh coating to rain or dust. Confirm the permitted temperature, humidity, surface temperature and weather window in the instructions for the supplied formulation.
How long does the coating take to dry and cure?
Drying and full cure are different stages. Confirm both for the supplied grade, film thickness and site conditions before scheduling cleaning or handover. No universal curing time is published for all formulations.
How should a coating project be accepted?
Agree a trial panel and acceptance criteria before work starts. Record the glass type, batch, application method, thickness and curing conditions. Check appearance and any specified optical measurements using an agreed method under comparable conditions.
Can I apply glass insulation coating myself?
Begin with a small trial and request technical and application guidance. Safe access, ventilation, protective equipment and substrate preparation still matter. Use trained personnel for work at height or specialist glazing.
Service life & maintenance
Agree care instructions and written warranty terms for the project.
What warranty and service life are offered?
Warranty is a written commercial commitment; expected service life depends on exposure and maintenance. A fixed public warranty or service-life figure has not been finalized. Confirm the applicable written terms in your quotation before ordering.
How do I clean coated glass?
Wait until the supplied formulation has fully cured. Follow its approved cleaning guidance and trial the cleaner on a small area. Avoid abrasive pads or aggressive chemicals unless specifically approved for that coating.
Can damaged coating be repaired or removed?
Assess the coating, substrate and extent of damage first. Local repairs can differ in appearance from the surrounding area. Agree a trial repair or removal method; do not assume a universal solvent or scraping method is safe.
Does the coating make glass shatterproof?
No shatterproof or anti-breakage performance is claimed from the available optical and physical sample reports. The coating does not replace safety glazing or the required assessment of glass condition and thermal stress.
Will salt, humidity or strong sunlight affect durability?
Exposure, surface preparation and cleaning can affect performance. Coastal, high-humidity and strongly exposed sites need a project-specific assessment. Ask for relevant weathering evidence and maintenance conditions before specifying a service life.
Is the hardness 3H, 7H or 9H?
The supplied SGS physical report records 3H for its tested sample. It does not identify a G801/G802 model or state the coating cure age. Different marketing figures must not be substituted for a result measured under matched conditions.
Samples & cooperation
Start with a defined sample brief and commercial terms that fit your market.
Can I request a glass coating sample?
Yes. Tell us the glass type, application method, target appearance and destination. We will discuss sample format, availability, charges and shipping before arranging a sample.
Do you support OEM/ODM and overseas projects?
We welcome OEM/ODM, distribution and export project enquiries. Agree customization scope, sample approval, documentation, minimum quantity and lead time for the proposed order; these terms are not fixed for every formulation.
Can I start a glass coating business with limited equipment?
Liquid coating can be assessed without a large production line, using the appropriate application tools. Costs still include training, safe access, customer acquisition and project delivery. Start with samples and local market research; no return on investment is guaranteed.
Do distributors have to hold large stocks?
Discuss a sample-first or project-based supply plan with the team. Minimum quantities, storage requirements and lead times depend on the agreed product and cooperation model. Do not build stock before confirming demand and shelf-life instructions.
Can I cooperate without experience in coatings?
Ask for technical documents and sample application guidance, then evaluate your ability to deliver the work. Window businesses, sunroom suppliers and contractors may be relevant channels, but customer development and commercial risk remain with each business.
Where is the company, and can I arrange a visit?
The company is based at No. 26 Changjiang North Road, Xinbei District, Changzhou, Jiangsu, China. Contact Cao Yuanli on +86 18094444999 or info@thelonelybrave.com to discuss an appointment, site visit or sample demonstration.
